Challenge

Tim Hecker, also known as Jetone, is a Canadian electronic musician and sound artist. The challenge was trying to represent the sense of despair that Tim Hecker wanted to convey on his album Konoyo. It required a lot of research, brainstorming and listening to the album on repeat in order to understand the meaning behind the songs.

Approach

In order to capture the essence of the album, I decided to create the poster with markings that are made with nail polish on water to create a sense of a barrier that someone creates for themselves when they are feeling depressed. It also represents the emotions they keep for themselves and create a personal bubble or world to prevent anyone from reaching out to them.

Outcome

The overall mood and atmosphere of the album is similar to being trapped in a dark room while trying to find your way out. One can also describe it as keeping your feelings to yourself and isolating yourself away from the world.
